Some of the  January  and February 2022 events listed were checked 14/01/22

2021 the year that was

In January, we managed to attend the Bayside Restorers Club’s Australia Day rally then in February a few of us met up at GOMA for the Evolution Of The Motorcycle exhibit, in March we were off to Montville to view the car collection of Serge the editor of the Citroen club, some of us made a long weekend of it and spent a couple of nights at Montville.

Come April and we did a triple feature of car museums, we started with breakfast at the Garage 25 at Coomera and then moved on to the Gold Coast Car Museum for lunch and more cars to look at then on the road again to Skip’s abode in Gilston to look over his collection of Peugeots and partake of afternoon tea.

For a May event we headed for the hills and attended the David Hack Classic in Toowoomba, we met up on a decidedly cool morning at Toowoomba airfield, lots to look at with this show.

In June we had another breakfast and lunch run organised, breakfast was at Nielsen's Nursery at Tanah Merah, then a short drive to the Mt Cotton Hill climb track to watch the action and have lunch.

July saw the cancellation of the Grand Display of French cars, but Paul, who has a Peugeot 206, at the last minute organised a run for French cars from Yamanto to Boonah for breakfast, we drove the back roads to Boonah, had a great breakfast and chat then drove on to Willawong Dam for a photo shoot.

Food was to the fore in August, French pastries no less, we met for a late lunch at French & More at Albany Creek, a bushwalk before was the perfect prelude to some good food and company.

September saw us once again joining Serge and Citroens and Renaults for a drive to Hell Town Hot Rods at Gympie, I think we had twenty-three starters for the day, quite a good turnout and another perfect Queensland day.

We stepped back in time for an October outing, going to the Heritage Centre at New Farm. We started the day with breakfast on the banks of the Brisbane River then absorbed the history of New Farm and Eagle Farm from convict settlements to airfield during the second world war, and finished the day with lunch at the Hamilton Hotel.

For November the club didn't organise anything ourselves but listed two events, one north and one south that you may have liked to go to.  The first was south to the Scenic Rim Motor Sports Association’s Super Sunday Show and Shine and Beaudesert Swap Meet.  The following weekend members went to the Peninsula Motorfest at Clontarf.

Our final activity was our own PCQ Christmas lunch on 12 December at the Hamilton hotel steakhouse, great food and Secret Santa pressies all round.

So you may not always have much advance notice, but we get to lots of places in the end!
